Meet Vinnie
I was born on march 21st 1960 in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. My parents Héctor Vinicio Mella Escalante and Lucy Garrido de Mella. My greatest pride is my four daughters, Valerie, Marielle, Gabrielle and Marie Lou, procreated with my life companion Mildred Duluc de Mella and my greatest happiness, my grandchildren Antonio Vinicio and Valentina.
Those who know me, know that my professional career began in the maritime services industry, with my father and grandfather, Don Tito Mella, from whom I learned that work and human relationships are essential for the growth of a business.
I have tried all my life to be, human, simple, sincere and to generate trust in others; I firmly believe that this has made it easier for me to start new businesses, which I carry out with strategic planning and discipline, but above all, guided by a gift of being able to recognize the value in people.
More than a family commitment ...
Although from an early age I dedicated myself to the family business, I always had a desire to develop my own businesses and this have marked my career. In this sense, in addition to the family businesses in the maritime and port transport sector, I started my own projects linked to the representation of international ship insurers, such as the Protection and Indemnity clubs, including maritime and cargo inspection services.
Additionally, I have ventured into other general investments, such as real estate, import and distribution of food products, power protection, business consulting and foreign investment, even offering my skills, experiences and knowledge to my country when I held the position of Vice Minister of Industry , in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Mypimes, a position that I held honorably for four years.
Helping other people discover a way to have a fuller and more authentic life, as I believe I have had it, Its what Vinnie's Way its about and its one of the most exciting projects I have ever undertaken.
